As Suntex Marina’s Regional Vice President, Sam Chavers is responsible for managing and directing marinas throughout the state of Florida, accompanied by a talented team of marina professionals who continuously strive to ensure they deliver the highest level of quality service to the boating public and marina industry.

Prior to this role, Chavers was Marina Jack’s Vice President of Marina Operations for 17 years, overseeing the City of Sarasota’s largest public marina and mooring field, and Sarasota’s largest boat yard. The Operation, with two locations, included two wet slip marinas, a dry storage facility, full service vessel maintenance and repair division, and the area’s largest and most diverse boat and watersports rental program.

Chavers currently sits on three different Boards of Directors, serves as Race Chair for Suncoast Charities for Children; Co-Chair to the Suncoast Shootout, as well as Co-Director of the Sarasota Slam. Chavers is also Chair of the Annual Sarasota Christmas Boat Parade of Lights. Additionally, he sits on Florida’s Clean Boating Partnership Program with the Department of Environmental Protection, volunteers with youth sports, and participates in many other benevolent charity events in the Sarasota community. Chavers has been recognized twice by the City of Sarasota Police Department and was awarded the Citizen’s Certificate of Merit for his community work.

Prior to joining Marina Jack, Chavers worked in the hospitality industry and retail business sector in Florida and Alabama. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Florida Southern College and a Master’s Degree in Business with a specialization in Market Management from the University of Alabama. Chavers graduated summa cum laude in his class and was an Academic All-American as a four-year letterman in collegiate baseball. He currently resides in Sarasota with his wife, Tara, and two children.
